ESITTELY
Työskentelyni keskittyy analogiseen valokuvaamiseen sekä valokuvapohjaisen taidegrafiikan menetelmiin. Teokseni toimivat tarinankerronnan välineenä, tutkien sanan vaikutusta kuvaan sekä valokuvapohjaisen työskentelyn ja serigrafian tulkinnan eroja. Praktiikkani keskiössä on valokuvien ja muistojen jättämät fragmentit – palaset isommasta kokonaisuudesta. Olen kiinnostunut kuinka kuvan yksityiskohdat luovat kokonaisuutta uudelleen ja rakentavat rakoja oletetun ja todistetun välille.
Serigrafian tekniikan yhdistäminen valokuvan teknillisiin toimintatapoihin on kantanut työskentelyyni mukanaan mahdollisuuden laajempaan ymmärrykseen materiaalisuudesta, hienovaraisuudesta ja kehollisten toistojen merkityksestä lopputulokseen. Toistojen ja pitkäjänteisyyden kautta kuva kuin kasvaa omaksi entiteetikseen, korostaen työskentelyäni ohjaavaa jännitettä paperille tallentuneen jäljen ja muistojen välillä.
My practice focuses on analogue photography and photo-based printmaking processes. The artworks function as a means for storytelling, examining the relationship between text and image while exploring the interpretive differences between photographic processes and serigraphy. Central to my practice are the fragments left behind by photographs and memories – traces that form parts of a larger whole. I am particularly interested in how details within an image reconstruct broader narratives and create gaps between what is presumed and what can be evidenced.
Integrating serigraphic techniques with the technical processes of photography has opened possibilities for a deeper engagement with materiality, subtlety, and the role of embodied repetition in shaping the outcome. Through sustained repetition and careful persistence, the image gradually emerges as an entity of its own, highlighting the tension that underpins my practice: the relationship between the trace fixed onto paper and the shifting nature of memory.
