Taiteen talo

 

Työskentelyssäni on oleellista niin aineellisten kuin aineettomienkin materiaalien toimijuus. En komenna materiaaleja, vaan toimin niiden kanssa yhteistyössä kuin improvisoivaa orkesteria johtava kapellimestari.  

Viime aikoina taiteessani on ollut läsnä evoluution, yksilöiden ja lajien kuolevaisuuden sekä lihattomien olioiden henkilöyden tematiikkaa. 

Työskentelen joustavasti eri tekniikoiden parissa, keskittyen kuitenkin pääsääntöisesti installaatiotaiteeseen. Teknisesti toteutan teokseni sen mukaan, mikä kutakin teosta tai teoskokonaisuutta parhaiten palvelee – materiaalit sanelevat kaiken tekniikasta teosten nimeentymiseen.

The agency of both corporeal and incorporeal materials is a crucial part of my work.  

Rather than command these materials, I collaborate with them as a conductor of an improvising orchestra.  

Some themes that have lately been present in my work include evolution, death on both an individual and a species-wide level, and the personhood of fleshless beings. 

I work mainly within the framework of installation, choosing the more precise techniques according to the needs of the work itself. The materials dictate everything from the medium to the naming of the work.
